At Town Council Meeting on April 11th, 2017 the Mayor and Councillors present unanimously (5 of 6 Councillors were present) voted to close the household waste pit at the Coronach Landfill. There will be metal and burnable wood/green waste allowed at the landfill and that service will continue; the hours for this are to be determined. We are working on a large bin for large household items, renovation/construction waste and shingles. The Large Bin arrival has not been finalized at the time of this publication. For your household and business food waste, the Motion to sign a 3 year household waste contract with Loraas was carried. This is for household waste collection and commercial waste collection effective May 1st, 2017. There will be no added costs to residents or businesses at this time. Please look for posters around Town and information on the Town Website regarding delivery and the schedule for the first pick up. There will be a black household Loraas bin delivered to each address with a household pick up biweekly. We will also be increasing our recycling pick up to biweekly at no extra charge to encourage everyone to recycle as much as possible. With this system, each week you will be able to put out a bin, either black or blue depending on the week.

***Since this was sent in, the bin arrival is tentatively set for the week of June 1st. The landfill will be open until near the end of June, date to be determined.

Thank you.
